Taking a look at
the recently launched iPhone 4S and what has it got to offer.
It’s finally arrived on Indian shore a month late with leading service providers Airtel and Aircel tying up with Apple to bring the iPhone 4S to India. However, the launch has disheartened more Apple fans than bring joy to them mainly because of its exorbitant pricing.
The Iphone 4S costs
around four times that it costs in the US ,with both the telecom operators pricing
the 16-GB model at Rs 44,500, while the 32-GB and 64-GB versions at Rs 50,900
and Rs 57,500, respectively which is also one of the main reasons for the lack
of response to the iPhone 4S.
What’s different?
Design wise, the
iPhone 4S looks the same as the iPhone 4 which may disappoint some people. None
the less, the iPhone 4S is an improvement over the iPhone 4 in terms of the
hardware with the faster ARM Cortex A9 dual-core 1GHz processor, an 8MP camera
and 1080p HD video support.
With the new
Iphone 4S, Apple introduced to the world, Siri, the artificially intelligent
voice assistant and iCloud system, using which you can synchronises documents,
videos and images across devices without the use of a computer.

What is Siri?
Siri is the intelligent personal assistant that
helps you get things done just by asking. It allows you to use your voice to
send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Siri
understands your natural speech, and it asks you questions if it needs more information
to complete a task.

Issues
The Iphone 4S does
have some though, the main one being a low battery life. Although Apple claims
to have fixed this issue with the iOS 5.0.1 update, many users still complain
that the update hasn’t fixed the battery issue. Apple should take this issue
seriously because its competitors have lined up near perfect products which are
much cheaper than the iPhone 4S.

People turned off due to the high price of the iPhone are looking towards several other cheaper options which include the Samsung Galaxy SII, Mororola Droid Razr and the Samsung Nexus which are somewhere around Rs. 15,000 less.
With the launch of Android 4 or Iceream
Sandwich, as it is popularly known, the iOS 5 has some serious competition on
hand, with Samsung Nexus even sporting the new Near Field Communication
technology (NFC) which allows for high volume data transfer wirelessly and can
also be used like a credit card to make payments.
Conclusion
Although, we
would have wished for a bigger battery than the same 1,420 mAh carried over
from the iPhone 4, the new iPhone 4S is an improvement made more exciting by
Siri and iCloud. The only thing that may hinder its adoptability is the
pricing.
